Overview
The Challenge
Campus services at La Verdad Christian College relied on manual, paper-based queue management systems that created long wait times, disorganized workflows, and a frustrating experience for both students and staff. Additionally, visitors, new teachers, and new students frequently struggled with directions, as they were unfamiliar with the campus layout. There was no centralized platform for managing queues or providing guided campus information.
The challenge was to design and build a system that could handle real-time queue operations, provide a user-friendly public kiosk for wayfinding and information, and give administrators full control through a secure dashboard — all while being scalable enough to serve the entire campus.
Approach
The Solution
LVCampusConnect was built as a dual-interface system: a touch-friendly public kiosk optimized for 16:9 displays, and a secure administrative dashboard with Role-Based Access Control tailored for specific campus offices.
Real-Time Operations
WebSockets via Socket.io for live queue updates, window availability, and instant system-wide notifications across all devices.
Secure Access Control
Google SSO authentication with JWT and strict RBAC, ensuring each office (MIS, Registrar, Admissions) has tailored permissions.
Smart Queueing
Priority queueing for PWD and Senior Citizens, department-specific services, and thermal receipt printing for queue tickets.
Analytics & Auditing
Comprehensive analytics with dual-wave area charts, aggregated data, and detailed transaction logs for monitoring office performance.
3D Interactive Wayfinding
To solve campus navigation for newcomers, we built basic 3D floor models using Blender and created animated arrow-guide videos with Canva. These intuitive visual guides are integrated directly into the public kiosk.
